Red Sea collector urchin (Tripneustes gratilla elatensis)

   The coloration varies: dark brown, green, red, or purple, with light zones between the rows of spines. The spines are short, dense, and usually white or very light in color, contrasting with the dark body. "Collector": often camouflages itself by attaching pieces of algae, shells, and pebbles to its spines.
