In the middle part of the body there is a silvery stripe, the width of which exceeds one row of scales, often merging with the silvery belly in the front part of the body. The gill covers and the iris of the eye are silvery. The scales on the back usually have small chromatophores along the edges. The fins are colorless or dark, the pectoral fins often have a blackish spot.
