   Giant trevally (Caranx ignobilis) at a cleaning station. A cleaner wrasse cleans a trevally of parasites.
Individuals under 50 cm long have a silvery-gray head and body, a darker back, and a silvery belly. There is no spot on the gill cover. The fins are gray to black, with only the leading edges and tips of the dorsal and anal fins being paler. Males have a grayish-black or jet-black body. Some individuals have silvery lines across the black background of their backs.
