Short description
The body coloration is pale green or blue with a greenish or purple tint, with a vertical dark stripe on each scale above and behind the pectoral fins. Adults have thick, plump lips and a noticeable growth on the head. Juveniles have a pair of dark wavy lines extending from the back of the eye and a yellow border on the caudal fin.
