Short description
This fish's coloration is variable: green, brown, orange-brown, or yellow, often with a narrow, mid-lateral, broken black stripe, which is absent in larger males. It has a long, cylindrical body and elongated dorsal and anal fins. Large males may have a bright yellow, orange, black, white, or multicolored spot on their sides behind the pectoral fins.
