Short description
Basic coloration is dull orange-brown with green markings, which become more noticeable as the fish matures. Adult males have yellow and blue markings on the head and snout, as well as a greenish-white vertical stripe down the middle of the body, females lack this stripe. Each body scale has a green spot that contrasts with the dark red body. While searching for food, it turns over stones, looking for hidden invertebrates.
