Short description
Adult females are almost entirely black or very dark brown. The body is elongated. Numerous narrow vertical stripes can be seen on the flanks, giving the species its name, "ringed." The stripes are more pronounced in the midsection. The tail is slightly rounded or sickle-shaped.
