Short description
The overall color is silvery-gray with thin dark edges on each scale and a large black spot in the axil of the pectoral fin. The dorsal profile of the head creates a distinct hump in front of the eyes, with a steeply sloping snout below the hump. The eyes are large, with a diameter approximately equal to the length of the snout. They can quickly change color, revealing four wide dark stripes on the body.
