Short description
The coloration is mottled, a combination of gray, white, and reddish-brown. The body is rough, warty, with leathery growths. The head is broad, with a large, upward-facing mouth and spiny ridges. The back is humped. The inner surface of the pectoral fins is orange with black and white spots. The fish can change its skin tone to match its environment and exhibits biofluorescence (glowing red under UV light).
