Short description
The body is yellowish-bronze or silvery, resembling a hatchet or teardrop in shape. The back and top of the head have a characteristic greenish or olive tint. The eyes are very large. The dorsal fin is short, set high, and has a black tip. The anal fin has a distinct black border. The pectoral fins are yellowish.
