Short description
Coloration is silvery, fading to yellowish-white on the belly and undersides. The back and dorsal part of the head are mostly green, with a wide, vertically elongated greenish stripe on each body scale. Blurred vertical dark stripes are often visible on the cheeks. The posterior edges of the preoperculum and the upper half of the gill cover are dark gray. The median fins are translucent to greenish-white, the lower and upper edges of the caudal fin are narrowly black.The pelvic fins are pale yellow to white. The pectoral fins are translucent with a small dark spot at the base of the upper rays.
