Short description
Males are usually mostly green with lavender-pink scale edges, and the caudal peduncle is noticeably lighter than the body. The head has a green interorbital region and the back of the head, two short green stripes extending from the eye, and a green stripe or spot under the eye, which bifurcates into two, bordered below by pink stripes to the upper lip and chin. There is usually a blurred yellowish area under the dorsal half of the pectoral fins.
