Short description
Spanish dancer's caviar (Hexabranchus sanguineus) are brightly coloured, spiralling ribbons of rose-like colour, red, orange or pink, laid on the substrate. These ribbons contain thousands of eggs, providing protection for the offspring. The caviar contains toxic substances accumulated by the mollusk during its feeding process, which makes it inedible for most predators.
